</div>11.04 can probably (IIRC) run Gnome 2 just fine, just select it once<br>
from the GDM greeter, and your preference should be remembered.<br>

All support for Gnome 2 has been dropped from Ubuntu as of 11.10. GTK<br>
and all supporting components have been bumped to their GTK/Gnome 3<br>
versions.<br>
