OK, I'll admit that wasn't quite fair. I do have a couple of

that I can't run GUIs on so I have to use a web based tool.

located too far away to make an ssh tunnel practical.

I'm not sure I understand the latency comment, are you talking
about tunneling X over ssh? I would run the gui app locally and
then forward/tunnel the db port if it's not accessible to the
outside.

Oh, sure. I wasn't thinking that way, I was thinking running an X
app over the link as you said. Running locally, connecting to the
remote db makes a lot of sense. <br>
