All of the CFL bulbs that I have purchased didn't last anywhere close to 10 years. What I need to find out is how to dispose of a couple of old White-Rodgers thermostats that contain mercury. I hope the new digital ones last as long as those things. Replacing batteries once a year shouldn't be too bad, but it is still maintenance that I have to do.<br>

Yeah, I started writing the purchase date on my CFLs with a permanent<br>
marker to see how long they really last. I'm not seeing the life out of<br>
them the marketers spew either.<br>
