If you want to make it available to other users on the system, you<br>
might put stuff in /usr/local/. The LFHS indicates that /usr/local or<br>
/opt should be used for applications that are not provided by your<br>
linux distro. If you're creating etc and a bunch of directory<br>
structure, typically people chose /opt for that, for example oracle<br>
