So David<br><br><br>    2 points:<br>    1) You couldn&#39;t do this as devpid.  usermod will not modify the username<br>    of a user who is currently logged in.<br><br><br>You are right, I could not change.  So what are my options.<br>
<br>    Create a user call junkuser, login as that user,<br>    sudo su - from that, and run the commands to convert devpid to devuser<br>    sudor remove junk user, is that right ?<br><br>    2) This turns devpid INTO devuser, rather than creating a new account<br>
    for devuser to give the user a fresh start.<br><br>    If I wanted to create  a fresh user itself then how would I do that<br><br><br>
