<p>So, an update.</p>
<p>I have filed a support request to add glue for my .us domains. It was met with, for the first time since I have been with them, an ignorant reply. The reply was an intro to AAAA records and how to add them in their DNS tool. Nevermind the fact that 10 seconds of looking would have shown that I don't use their DNS management utility because I run my own servers. It is like the person who answered didn't know what a glue record was.</p>
<p>I replied back, stating I needed glue and not a tutorial; I already know how IPv6 works and what a valid address looks like. Their reply was that the .us TLD does not allow IPv6 glue. This is blatantly incorrect, as of today there are 35 IPv6 glue records in the .us TLD (source, HE's progress report page, confirmed by looking at the .us TLD zone file directly) for 17 domains (source, the .us TLD zone itself, confirmed with dig against the DNS system).</p>
<p>I am pursuing the issue further, but what I have found in my investigation as a result of all of this is at least two registrars (<a href="http://gkg.net">gkg.net</a> and <a href="http://gandi.net">gandi.net</a>) which support IPv6 glue for the .us TLD.</p>
<p>You know, a recurring theme here is that there are many businesses that don't actually know WTF they are doing. Maybe what's needed is a way to attempt to solve *that* problem...</p>
<p>I will follow-up with the result of my efforts here, if anyone is interested.</p>
