I can get my daughter to respond to email by including discussions of funding and/or food. I've also used text messaging to alert her to an email she needs to read.<br>

With a real smart phone they should be able to see email fairly rapidly.<br>
My current phone and my last one both had text messaging and both my<br>
personal and work emails configured. I could even configure Facebook on<br>
the current one (in fact it is a default shortcut that I removed) were I<br>
so inclined. (There is nothing that I've seen on Facebook so far that<br>
has made me think I need to know about it at the speed of smell let<br>
alone the speed of light.)<br>

yeah, my son has an AT&T Iphone ( as does his wife), my daughter has a<br>
Verizon Motorola X (DROID), and an Itouch, and a Blackberry (work).. All<br>
I've got is a Env2, at least it has a qwerty keyboard! I send them an<br>
email, it takes 2 days for them to respond. Send a text, and 2 minutes<br>
later I get a reply..<br>
