Could also be overheating CPU...remove, clean, regoop, and replace
heatsink. I had a similar problem with a new machine about ten
years ago and some clown had left the peel-off paper on the square
of thermal compound when assembling the machine. <br>

drve and the other from cd. Most likely mobo as route to power
