I got a call on Thursday from a recruiting office in Nebraska, must be
cheaper in Nebraska, about installing a DVD NOW (essentially a redbox)
vending machine at an IGN in Marble Hill, GA. (one time gig)

pays $15 an hour with $15 Travel and time limit is 1.5 hours. Based on
the instruction manual there is almost nothing to it. My job is just to
open the guts and make sure the moving parts are not broken, then plug
it into the power and LAN connections and let her rip. I may have to
run the diagnostics, but I will have to confirm that. Based on prior
experiences with appliance installs, a refrigerator looks more
complicated. But, it is a paying gig that may get me rep points with
that recruiter. I don't want to be a career installer mind you, but at
least it is a start. Albeit a slow one.

I am trying to shut off the little voice in my head that keeps saying,
"I went to school for 2 years, got an Networking Specialist AAS, an A+
and a CCNA, and completed my CCNP course work to install a VENDING MACHINE."

I'll probably work slow to get my full 1.5 hours of pay. My girlfriend
wants to go to Six Flags this summer and the $40 I make on this job
should pay for the ticket and parking.

I'll take what I can get. Beats flipping burgers.

:)

have a great summer and wish me luck on the job search.
