I had another happy penguin moment today.

I have an old IBM laptop that doesn't have wifi. I threw the laptop and a 4 year old dlink USB wifi adaptor in my suit case in hopes of maybe using the wifi with an as yet unbooted XP partion left on the laptop years ago.

But, once out of town I booted Ubuntu 9.04 to check some documents that I hoped to access from Winders and lo and behold the wireless was working!

When I bought this USB wifi stick years ago at the markdown counter at Microcenter I tried for days to get Mandriva to use it with no joy. Never tried it again.
