On my way out the door to MicroCenter, she blasts down the stairs to query me "It's not going to have that nasty windows crap on it, is it? Everytime I have use the school windows machines I feel like I'm working crippled".

:-D

She had to take a "Technology" class that basically showed student how to use mickysoft orofice. She would come storming in with steam coming out her ears because the assignement _had_ to be done in the crap stuff. She could do it in seconds in Linux and with OpenOffice but the mickysoft stuff, with instructions, was pretty crappy and convoluted. I showed her that she could save the spreadsheets and word proccessing files as mickysoft format crap and the teacher would never know the difference. Unfortunately, I had not install the font compatibility package on her desktop (it is a default on the fedora12+) so the teacher couldn't open the files and keep the formatting the same. But the one she turned in earlier from her laptop was fine. I added the missing fonts and all was fine.
