I just moved to F12 from F11, and I can say that F12 has fixed all of
what I saw as bug in Network Manager. I
had to uninstall it from F11, it was so crappy. But with F12, I
appear to have no issues at all with the wired
connections, and I was able to get the wireless to connect with only
minimal research. SO Fedora 12 might
be worth a try if Network Manager is your bete noir.

I'm going to second Pete's opinion on 12 vs 11. Network Manager was a
CF in 11, and uninstalling the damn thing was the only way to get it to
stop it's insane assault on my manually configured settings. I think
that Network Manager has since been reinstalled as a dependency in my
system running 12, but it hasn't caused the machine to throw up all
over itself this time. Those were frustrating days though . . . .
grrrr.
Fedora is what it is though. If you want trouble-free, it's not your
distro. If you want some of the latest features and are willing to
donate some time and effort towards helping fill out bug reports, then
it's perfect.
