MS is not the quick easy way to get additional key-words on resume. HR-bots don't seem to care or understand. There are very few jobs outside of academia where anything over a BS/BA seems to be required. This is slightly frustrating.<BR>
That being said, I went the same way (MS in IT with research in information-assurance and penetration testing). I don't know if it scares the recruiters.<BR>
Now I am considering adding some certs to pile on top of my in-progress PhD in information assurance and network security.<BR>
My current employer is interested in my getting Security+ and CISSP. Can't argue with that. The Security+ is the base-level cert to get a net-security job with the feds, I have been told, and CISSP is a light sprinkling of coverage over 40 square miles of security landscape, I have been told. <BR>

Scares the bejeezus out of nearly everyone in sales and management :-)<BR>
