I have the same issue. It seems to use the same cert tree as mozilla but it has no permanent exception tree capability. It seems to be a static compiled thing but I really haven't dug further. I just keep clicking "OK".
I run 'pidgin-2.6.6' in FC11. Each time I connect to an internal LCSP
server I am required to 'Accept certificate for ...' because:

"The certificate is not trusted because no certificate that can verify it
is currently trusted"

I have saved this specific certificate in 'pidgin's certificate
manager. What can I do to permanently accept it?

TIA.
