I second the Fox motion, I have bought appliance parts from them for years. They have two locations now as I recall, one down by Clayton State and one in Doraville near the old GM plant, closed the Stone Mtn. branch a few years back. Fox is WAY cheaper than Sears and generally has the stuff in stock which Sears generally doesn't! However, Sears does have a pretty cool website that actually shows diagrams and gives part numbers for what you need and it is not just for Sears stuff, they service all brands now. So you can go on the Sears site and punch in your model # and get the part # for what you need at Fox.

Now if your GE icemaker is the round cube type, there is a seal in the bottom of the ice tray that fails and causes all the problems. If it has the newer "half moon" shaped cubes like everybody seems to be using these days, then the problem is likely in the seal of the solenoid mounted in the rear where the H2O comes in. If you don't filter the water going to the ice maker and esp. if the
water has been turned off in the neighborhood or home recently, a piece of
trash may be keeping the seal from closing. You might be able to remove and clean it or perhaps buy a replacement seal, otherwise the solenoid shouldn't cost more than say $25 at Fox and perhaps less.

There is also a Sears repair bunch on Mountain Industrial Blvd. They
carry parts for everything.
I installed a new icemaker a while back and it was less than $300...
Take pictures! This sounds like a nightmare scene from a freezer that
should be shared!
