Hmm. My F11 system has a file find utility in top bar "Places"->"Search for files" . It happily found file names buried 10+ layers deep in my home directory.

On Fri, Jul 10, 2009 at 1:36 PM, Sean <kilpatms@speakeasy.net> wrote:
uninstalling pulseaudio doesn't seem to be an option as (apparently) gnome
desktop depends on it!
Another Gnome oddity. The GUI file-find utility doesn't search recursively!
Which makes the damn thing essentially useless. I looked around but couldn't
find anyway to fix this. I do wonder how developers could be >that< stupid. And
yes, I can use the "find" command, but sometimes the GUI (ought to be) quicker
for simple searches.
