The new holy grail of front ends are the ion based boards:

I was reading about these this morning. They've finally hit the streets. Apparently, it takes six months to take an existing platform and pair it with with an existing video chipset? Newegg's out of stock on the dual core version already.

The only question that's still possibly lingering is flash video performance. Liliputing says it's lacking:

http://www.liliputing.com/2009/05/dual-core-nvidia-ion-still-not-ready-for-the-htpc-flash-video-problems.html

However Anandtech had better results:

http://www.anandtech.com/mb/showdoc.aspx?i=3566&p=3

I think the problem is Hulu. I find it stutters sometimes at full screen 480p on my main box, which is no slouch.

And I kinda wish it had an s-video out. There are still some of us who haven't taken the HD plunge yet.
