<br>in case anyone missed it the Caprica pilot was direct to DVD (though it says the series is coming in 2010) and came out last week. we finally picked it up & watched last night and let me say Ronald Moore does NOT disappoint! even if you thought BSG sort of jumped the shark in the finale (I didn't, I'd give it an A-) this is a fresh start w/a new arc & new characters that gave me the WOW! feeling you had in season one of BSG. it's slightly anachonistic in that a lot of the technology seems more advanced than the societs it prequels but that's plausible since they make it clear the post-cylon war colonists are somewhat techophobic (at least w/regard to AI & networking). it's definitely got shock value and is overall a fair bit darker than even BSG was though it will be interesting to see the series since there were things they definitely could NOT show on a regular cable channel (if that entices you). I don't know if that's why they did direct to DVD or if they figured they'd take the gloves off since they weren't constrained by "decency" limits (which caused which?).<br>
<br>anyway, if you were ever a fan of the last show (even if you lost interest) you should DEFINITELY check this out!<br>
