Each latop is different. I found out that on our Acer 5100s that we<br>
need to power off the laptop and hook up the monitor so the laptop would<br>
"see" the external connection. This is *not* os specific.<br>

The biggest issue I've had is dealing with the incompatibilities of<br>
older LCD projectors and some monitors with my laptop.</blockquote><div><br></div><div>A lot of older projectors can only do 640x480 or more commonly 800x600. So if the projector is old, my first shot at troubleshooting is changing my X configuration to be 800x600.</div>
