I purchased a remanufactured black cartridge for my LaserJet 5P (yes, it's ancient) over a year ago, and I have had no problems with it. Printers have changed significantly over the past 20 years, so I don't know whether my experience is of any value to your situation.

Have you considered refilling the cartridge? I'm thinking of doing that with my Minolta Magicolor 2200 color laser. The upside is a huge savings; I don't know the down side, other than at some point the carts do wear out.
My HP laser needs new color carts. and HP wants nearly $100 apiece.

OUCH!

Wandering around the web, I see a number of remanurfactured carts.
available. I have found "New, not in original box" from Amazon at $250
and "remanufactured" for $175. All these are sets of four, but I can
always use an extra black cart.

Anybody have any advice on using "remanufactured" laser toner
carts.? Anybody to stay away from?
