a need to attach a recurring event in physical reality to a recurring
event in the structured calendar, physical reality doesn't play nicely.

Where do we start the year? At the apogee or perigee of earth transit
around the sun? Some mid-point in between? Or do we tie to a stellar
alignment of sun, earth and stars?<br><br>Too bad our rotation period is not an integer divisor of the orbit period. <br>
<br>Perhaps since the moon has an orbital period of 28 days we could go
for a 13 months year and a 1 day global party and every 4 years we get
a 2 day party.<br>(I like thanksgiving 'cause it's got lots of food and
it's an excuse to hang out with friends and eat. Maybe a global food
day celebration. Yeah. _Everyone_ makes food for 2 other people and
they all sit down to eat.)<br>
