We need to get a sizable Linux server up and running, preferably by the
beginning of next week. We're looking at something like an 800GB RAID
array. I'm thinking of doing it with Seagate 73GB Cheetah drives in two
external SCSI chassis and a DPT Decade controller. We'll need some hot
spares, but do not require nor want to pay for hot-swap capability. It will be
an SMP system, processor (Intel? Alpha?) not yet determined. We'll need a
tape drive or drives for backing up a portion of this data. In addition we may
require several more Linux machines in the near future.
Can anyone recommend a local (Atlanta) vendor to work with? Vendors, feel
free to recommend yourself!
