I have a set of disks for slack4 that I made for an old 33mhx 12mg 128hd
laptop that worked great untill it drank a Heiniken. I wouldn't have
recompiled the kernel but I could dail out via ppp.
if you want the disks I have them, let me know.
althought you may want to use something a little newer.
