I have a new Asus K7M motherboard with 750MHz Athlon processor and
128MB Corsair memory. The system seems to run 4 to 7 times slower
than it should, based on a freeware benchmark program (TestCPU) and
on floating point calculation programs I wrote.
TestCPU indicates that both memory access and processor operations
are slow.
I have checked all motherboard switches and BIOS settings. I don't
see anything wrong. Has anyone experienced anything like this?
I am not trying to overclock it, just run at standard settings.
In a related question, Asus doesn't give out a tech support phone
number. I sent an email but haven't gotten a reply. Has anyone had
success contacting them for motherboard support?
Thanks for any help.
