I have a Linux server set up on a local network. Server platform is a
PII 450. It serves as a file, mail, and data server for a number of
WinNT v4.0 workstations. The server is running Samba, Postgres, plus it
also acts as a time server, ftp site, etc. Distribution is Slackware
7.0, kernel is 2.2.15. The server is also connected to the internet and
does IP Masquerading
I am having problems sending large files to the server. The error
message I get is normally a timeout. Only a small part of the file ever
makes it to the server. Downloads from the server to the Windows
machines work just fine. This happens with both ftp and smb transfers.
Does anyone have any hints or ideas?
Regards - Bob Kruger
