I have seen both at work and I would go for a Nvidia personally. It
beats Matrox hands down. I run M400 on my machine at work and I use glx
drivers( u can get this from source forge, the project which John
Carmack is on ). Even with this gl performance on full screen is just ok
if not flaky at times. Its good when run in small windows.
I have also seen machines that use the new beta nvidia drivers( you can
find this at www.freshmeat.net ). The performance is amazing !!!
If you are a serious gamer, you could wait for voodoo5 though ....
