Another question about my little P100 Dell laptop. Its got such a
small screen that running X is pretty much useless. KDE dialogs are
simply too large and you often can't see the buttons that are needed
to operate it cause they're about five inches lower than your screen
extends! So... I've resigned myself to running this box as text only,
which is okay, cause all I really want to do is handle some email
stuff and write C++ code with it. Now - I want more text on the screen
than the standard 80x40 characters. I'm running RedHat 6.2 and I
recall that there are a lot of text mode options from my early RedHat
days but I don't recall them or know what the current state of the art
is for this kind of stuff. Anyone care to clue me in on how to best
manage my text mode displays under Linux? How can I have my machine
boot up in a smaller font text mode with all my sessions this way? I'm
a simple programmer who needs help from you sysadmin types out there!
thanx much & later,
Ben Scherrey
