I looked at http://www.boardwatch.com at Todd SanMillan's suggestion and was
able to gain some insight from the "find a backbone" section.

possible to locate a Web server with just about anyone listed in the "find a
backbone" section and be pretty much as well-connected as one can be within
the Lower 48 - but that overseas may be an issue in either direction. It
seems that an outfit like Sprint IP Services, which in their listing appears
to extend their reach globally, might give me less of a reason to spread
servers around the world.
