You may want to check into AMANDA, the free automated backup system
from Maryland University. http://www.amanda.org.
It supports SAMBA clients for backing up both UNIX and Windows
platforms. Its fast, reliable and much easier than coding solid backup
and restore scripts by hand. :-)
