Topic: SGI and Linux Advanced Cluster Environment
Speaker: Susan Decker and Chris Schultz, James River Technical, Inc
Clustering is commonly thought of as a way to increase computer
power, but it is also used to create highly available systems. A
vareity of methods for creating HA clusters will be examined,
including commercial solutions and the Linux High Availability project.
SGI recently announced ACE (Advanced Cluster Environment),
an economical solution for compute-intensive environments.
Designed for bioinformatics, education, electronic design automation,
etc., ACE brings together SGI's heritage in scalable computing with
the latest developments from the Open Source Software community.
The rsult is an integrated, high-performance and robust technical
compute cluster solution with the industry's lowest total cost of
ownership.
James River Technical is an authorized SGI reseller offering their
entire product line in addition to other services.
