I think I fixed the kernel compile problem upon getting to make

bzImage.  Make was bombing on not finding /usr/bin/as86  so I just made

a symbolic link to it from from within /usr/src/linux/arch/i386/boot.  I

reran make bzImage and it finished without a problem.

  So my next question is :  has anyone else seen this or is this

something unique to my system.  I'm more curious than anything else.

I'm just as curious as to why the system finds the other files in

/usr/bin but not this one and if this is going to effect anything else.
