Hi. I'm trying to use kickstart to configure some RedHat 6.1 machines without
floppy drives. Looking at the kickstart and redhat-cd HOWTOs, it looked like I
should be able to just create a ks.cfg file and insert it into the root
directory of the boot CDs file system. When I try to boot off of that cd,
though, it can't find the ks.cfg file (No such file or directory:
'/tmp/ks.cfg'). So, I tried putting it in the root directory of the cd and in
/tmp of the cd, and then I mounted the boot image, '/images/pcmcia.img', as a
loopback device, and put /ks.cfg and /tmp/ks.cfg into that, too. No joy.
So, reading over all the docs again, I notice that they all talk in terms of a
boot floppy, and never a boot cd. Also, the HOWTO mentions a ks.samp and
README.ks files, and I've found a ks.samp file by doing a web search, but I
haven't found a README.ks file. They are not on the RedHat 6.1 cd.
So, does anybody know how to make kickstart work from a boot cd? Or does
anybody know where I can find more documentation?
TIA,
John
