Red Hat tends to compile every possible available module for maximum HW
coverage. You're probably finer-tuning your kernel config.
There's a specific switch in the kernel configuration (it's in one of the
first two or three sections) that specifically allows modules for older
versions of the kernel to be loaded in.
BTW, if you're using RH 6.2, couldn't you just use the updated 2.2.14-5.0
kernel RPM package they provide (and have since even updated)?
