This is interesting, since I once did the very same thing, except it was the
/etc directory. It was ugly, and I didn't even have to reboot to find out I
screwed up. I ended up re-installing from scratch, since the system wasn't
fully production yet (which was why I was root :) ), but I am interested to
see if anyone has anything that I didn't try ...pj
