I don't think it's a question of them automatically filtering
traffic for you. It's a matter that they are not informing their
customers about the reality of connecting up. I would guess you
didn't bother to read the article. The suit is not about this dude
getting busted into or about them not providing the security. The
suit is over their failure to INFORM him. Think of all the lusers
who are hooking up and not having a clue. They outnumber you and me,
big time. Their boxes get compromised and then we get attacked from
their boxes. They should at least be informed of the risks and advised
how to take appropriate action. If they chose not to, then it's on
their heads. If a company is aware of the risks and choses not to
inform their customers of those risks, than negligent.
