I don't use dotster.com so I don't know how they operate, but with
NSI it use to be automatic that anytime you registered a domain (or changed
a reservation), that included a name server which was not previously
registered, they did a host registration for you. That caused a lot of
confusion if you later moved the IP address of the host and didn't REALIZE
there was a host record at the internic (which actually overrides the DNS!).
Happened to me two or three times. Now I remember that all of my name
servers also have host registration entries. :-)
Go back to NSI and look for the host registration information.
That's what you are looking for. If you can't find one of their point
and clicky forms (geezzee, people are getting so lazy) then find the
host-template.txt file in their forms repository. Just fill it in and
E-Mail it to ">hostmaster@rs.internic.net and you should be set.
Points to note: In the registered hosts database, a given
registered host name can only have one registered address to it, a
given address can only have one host name referencing it. The host
name database is intended to be unabiguous both ways. This is important
if you have virtual addresses, multihomed hosts, or hosts with a lot of
aliases. One name, one address.
