I like the idea of ale members forming a road team to renovate
businesses technology to Linux. Wouldn't that be something to see! A
free highly trained technology team traveling from business to
business implementing tremendous cost saving improvements. Sounds to
me like a wonderful charitable organization that needs to grow out of
ALE! Of course, is anyone interested....
Wouldn't Microsoft have a tough time countering that kind of charity?
(^v^) I love the idea!!!!

My wife and I hosted a Japanese student for a week thru a local
churches homestay program. We thoroughly enjoyed having her in our
home and I, of course, got a look at her laptop computer. They call a
laptop in Japan a "notepersonalcon", pronounced as fast as you can say
it. She had some neat little faces, such as the one above, that I had
never seen before. I introduced her to Linux and she was certain that
my laptop running Linux was much smarter than other American computers
since I got Netscape Communicator to display Kanji. I got the
impression that the Japanese students consider their computers smarter
than American computers since they have three languages built into
their OS and hardware.
I am interested in producing Japanese characters for email and such.
Anyone have ideas on how to setup Linux to produce other languages.
How do you overcome the English keyboard problem? Are there
multilingual keyboards available for sale here in America? I've just
never run across one before. Thanks,
Dow
