Actually I had visited:

http://www.cs.utexas.edu/users/kharker/linux-laptop/

And found info on this particular laptop (Toshiba Tecra 8000).  I just

visited it again and they've updated it, indicating that there is

support for this modem and they provide a link.

I'm off to check it out.  Anyone else interested, let me know and I'll

let you know how I make out.
