Today I noticed a security warning in /var/log/messages. The warning was the
following:
Apr 11 00:02:38 wildthing : Security Warning: There is modifications for port listening on your machine :
Does anybody know what this means and how/why I got it? This particular machine
is running Mandrake R7. I have never logged into the machine as root other than
to do maintenance and ect... I have never logged onto the internet as root. I
have never changed any of the permissions in the file system. Furthermore, all
of the files that I have downloaded using this machine have either come from
mandrake.com, caldera.com or redhat.com and have been in the form of rpm's that
were signed.
Any help is appreciated.
Best
