Since it seems that you know you will be running Linux on at least two PCs
and I presume you don't want any surprises in doing so, have you considered
having a local vendor (e.g., Delta) knock out some machines for you? The
upside is that if you can pick your mobo/video/sound/NIC/etc., avoiding any
proprietary or Windows-specific stuff, you're likely to have scant little
difficulty under Windows or Linux provided no components are too new to be
supported.
