It wasn't long ago I was a newbie setting up Linux with Oracle for a home
based web server and development environment. I would be happy to share that
experience with the group. (Mandrake 6.1, Oracle 8.1.5, AOLserver, ArsDigita
community system). Plus a whole bunch about database backed web sites.

Subject: [ale] June Meeting Presentation is up for grabs
Remember when you were a newbie? I know - I know - when you were a
newbie you had to type in the binary code to the linux kernel using
only NOTEPAD.EXE.
I am looking for someone who would like to do a nice 'newbie friendly'
talk for the June meeting. Two talks in the past 4 months have touched
on Security, so I'd like to avoid that topic for a while. A nice 'how
to' or an overview of something of interest to most new linux users
would be neat (setting up printing, samba, overview of office suites,
burning CDRoms, etc.)
You don't have to be an expert on the subject just have some
experience with the topic and be willing to put together a
presentation.
If you have an idea and would like to present at the June 8 or even
the September meeting, send email to ">ale-admin@ale.org
Regards,
-Eric.
