last year my RH was bad too. got it first from GAtech site. wonder if the
image is bad?
This time I learned: first md5sum check. Then, mount it as loop device,
did a upgrade with it first. worked. Last, burn it to a CD for archiving
purpose:-)

#The CD is bad.

#I used cdrecord to burn a RedHat and a Slackware ISO image on a Sony
#CDR at the same time late last year. The RedHat one was bad, but the
#Slackware was perfect. I think the CDR knows my feeling about RedHat!
#
#You will need to make sure that the ISO image is good, by checking its
#MD5 signature. Other than that, there are so many ways the CD burning
#can go bad.

#Subject: [ale] Burning CD problems.
#
#
#In a not so distant past, I downloaded and subsequently burnt a copy of the
#RedHat 6.1/Alpha (as in arch) iso. I am not able to use this copy for some
#strange reason. I can mount the cd, and list the contents but none of the
#images
#(i.e avanti.gz) will unzip and none of the rpms are recognized. I can't even
#run
#the binaries. Can someone explain this to me? It's obvious I screwed
#something
#up. I was using cdrecord and an HP 7200+. Any help is much appreciated,
#before I
#end up wasting more CD's and time.
