You know...if you are using linux at your router you might as well run dhcpd
and then all yoru worries would dissapear... :) You might also think about
runnign a caching name server if you hit alot of the same sites over and
over again.... you'd be surprised at the performance increase you get when
you don't have to poll a busy dns server!
An excellent beginner tool for doing such a thing is webmin (www.webmin.com)
(among TONS of other goodies it will make DNS a breeze.
