One thing is for sure; I can run the Oracle Java install utility on 6.0 and
it works enough to let me install Oracle. On 7.x it just blows out. It
requires having jre 6x, but I have tried it with 7x , to no avail. Has
anyone got the Oracle 8.1.5 (Standard or Enterprise) working with Mandrake
7x. I am going back to 6 for now.

Okay, I've found something that is totally wierd here. When I first
installed and booted this p133 with Mandrake 6.0, it was reporting a
bogomips value of 1.64 and was really slow doing everything.
I rebooted to time the boot process and found that it booted much faster
than I remembered. It took about 50 seconds from lilo to login prompt.
Apparently I was not mistaken either, because it now reports a bogomips
value of 53.4.
After viewing the messages log, following 4 boot processes, it reports
1.64 for the first two and 53.4 for the next two.
So, anyone have any idea why the first boot would yield such a low
bogomips value and why the thing would be running so slow?
I've rebooted a couple of more times and I'm now continuously getting
the 53.4 bogomips.

I'm afraid there will be more problems with W2K than there were with
Y2K...
