I have no idea. Here are the 'system requirements' for ata66 from the
Western Digital web site:
System Requirements for Ultra ATA/66
1. The host system must support Ultra ATA/66 (system motherboard, BIOS,
chipset, or controller card). Ultra ATA/66 controller cards may be
obtained from Promise Technologies.
2. The hard drive must support Ultra ATA/66.
3. A 40-pin, 80-conductor IDE cable must be attached to the host system
and the hard drive. 80-conductor cables may be obtained from
www.ultracable.com.
4. The operating system must be enabled for DMA transfers.
The only OS issue I see is the DMA transfers issue.
