Well, I just got off the phone with Maxtor support and they told me that

I can not put the ata66 drive on the same ide cable with my ata33 drive.

He told me it would cause data corruption.  He told me to put my cdrom

on with the ata66 drive.  I asked him about this issue of a slow device

slowing down the faster device, and he said it's possible, but I don't

have any choice.

Personally I think this sucks.  Either I can't use my 10gig drive, or I

take the ata66 30gig back and get another ata33 drive.  Going that route

would actually save me some money, as I'd get a cheaper drive as well as

return the controller card all together.

Anyone out there running an ata66 and ata33 drive on the same ide cable?
