Greetings,
"cdrdao" is a program like "cdrecord" except that it claims to be able
to get rid of the "2 second break" between sound tracks. I downloaded
"cdrdao" from a Debian site and installed it on my Debian partition
without any problem.
It will produce a sensible looking "toc" file when given a couple of
sound files. My problem comes when I actually have "cdrdao" access my
(Panasonic/Matshusita) writer, with a command like the following
cdrdao write toc-file
invariably I get the following error message:
"ERROR: cannot open generic scsi device 'dev/cdrecorder': Read-only
file system"
I adjusted the permissions on "/dev/scd0" (my scsi device for the
Panasonic drive) and made a soft link to it for "/dev/cdrecorder". All
done as root but to no avail. I do not have this problem with
"cdrecord". It is of course possible that "cdrdao" will not work with my
drive, but would that make the drive inaccessible?
I must be something missing here. If anyone has an idea what the problem
might be, I would appreciate hearing about it. Thank you very much.
