It amazes me the things I learn on this list. Just a few more comments
and I'll let this one die. I truly appreciate you sharing your
insights.

Actually I think I got your point. :) My plan was to move both my
drives to the new ata66 controller card. But then I became concerned
that having an ata66 and an ata33 drive on the same card would eat up
quite a bit of my 133 MBps. Again my ignorance comes into play here.
Since the drives are on the same card, then the card is not going to be
attempting to push 66 from one card and 33 from the other (totally 99)
at the same time, right?
So, I'm back to determining the best ide setup. I guess I'll disable my
secondary on my mb and the secondary on my ata66 card. I don't think I
want to put both of my hard drives, cdrom and cdrw on the ata66 card,
when I have the availability of the ide on the mb to reduce the
throughput going through my pci.
So now I'm thinking I should put my ata33 drive with one of the cdrom
drives on the mb and the ata66 drive with the other cdrom on the ata66
card.
Brings up another question I've seen batted about on the list, about the
possibility of a slow device (cdrom) will slow down the faster device
when they are on the same ide. Last I noted, this was bunk. Anyone
care to address that issue?

I'm afraid there will be more problems with W2K than there were with
Y2K...
