Sure there is. When folks screw something up under the hood, they haul
it in for warranty repair. Automakers'd probably _love_ to make it illegal
for you to touch anything under the hood, at least 'til the warranty's
over. :)
But at least they _are_ charging you for the whole car up front. This
I-Opener deal seems like the equivalent of selling you the car for half
price, and then making it up on scheduled maintenance, but then getting
torqued when you do your own oil changes. People would think you were
wacko if you owned a car dealership and tried this model, why's it work
for cellphones and pagers and that which ought-to-have-been-a-Linux-box?
