Whatever happened to "Breaking this seal voids warranty"?
They probably could have handled it in a more media friendly way. How
about raising the price to $199, give a $100 rebate for signing up for
the service and selling the cable for $89? Certainly would have done
some interesting things to the PC market for a span.
Difficult keeping up with intellectual property these days. Seems the
intellectual is bleeding over into the tangible and vice versa (net
patents). At least the cable companies make it clear that you are
renting their boxes.
Now I'm all worried that what I have done to my Furby is in violation of
agreement.
